At Folded by Kepler 

I fold because my father folds.

My father learned origami long before loss entered our lives, but it became something deeper when his mother became sick. During long days filled with uncertainty and stress, folding gave his hands something gentle to do and his heart somewhere to place its hope.

His mother loved the cranes he made for her. In Japanese culture, folding 1,000 cranes is believed to grant the folder a wish — a symbol of hope, healing, and love. So my father began folding his thousand cranes for her.

Before he could finish, she passed away from COPD.

For years, I thought she had died from cancer. Maybe because grief often blurs details and leaves behind only the feeling of losing someone too soon. But what stayed clear was this: folding became our way of loving people through pain, memory, and healing.

Now, we continue that tradition.

We fold the crane for her.

Every piece we create is inspired by moments, people, and stories that have shaped our lives. Origami is not just art to us — it is remembrance made tangible.

Our butterfly piece was created in memory of one of my sister’s friends who lost their life to suicide. We fold the butterfly for suicide awareness, for remembrance, and for the people carrying silent battles.

Each fold holds intention.

Each design carries meaning.

Each piece is made by hand, with love, memory, and hope pressed into every crease.

Folded by Kepler was built on the belief that something delicate can still be incredibly strong.
